This Personal Information is obtained in many ways including:

  • Any forms that we publish that you choose to complete;
  • Electronically, such as information you provide through our websites www.woundinnovations.com.au (for example when you purchase our goods and / or services, register to receive our newsletters or other communications, enter into one of our competitions, visit our website or otherwise interact with us);

When we collect Personal Information we will, where appropriate and where possible, explain to you why we are collecting the information and how we plan to use it.

For example, if Wound Innovations is providing clinical services to you, we will gather information about you which relates directly to your health and clinical service outcomes. We may also ask about your relatives’ health to determine whether you are at risk for some health conditions that have a hereditary component. You may also be asked about your general health and any medications that you are taking. This is necessary because many medications (such as corticosteroids) can have significant effects on wound healing and wound healing outcomes. You do not have to provide this information but if we are not aware of some of this information it may result in you achieving a lower health outcome.

As we sometimes need to obtain pathology specimens which can be claimed through Medicare, we collect information from your Medicare card. To determine if you are eligible for assistance with transport for example, we also ask you for your Health Care Card number and Veteran eligibility details, if applicable.

We also use a range of social media channels such as Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and Instagram (“Social Media”) to distribute news, announcements, promotions and to address community enquiries. If you submit or post comments, images, tweets, recordings or other personal content for public display on Social Media, that information may be available for anyone in the world to read, view or comment on. You should check the Social Media’s website for their individual privacy policies. We may also collect data from Social Media to provide relevant marketing to you and to keep track of and get reports on how you interact with us on Social Media.
